Hi Ken,
I live in Pueblo and have had several dealings with your group, especially Bill Williams. Anyway, I have recently received a patent for an internal combustion engine with a sidewall combustion chamber (US Patent 7,387,093) and more importantly, I am applying concepts used in the patented engine to modify a Stirling engine for more output power. I also recently entered the modified Stirling engine in the NASA Create the Future Design Constest and it helps my chances for winning if more people view the entry. So, I would certainly appreciate it if you would view the entry yourself, and if you feel it has merit, then I would also appreciate you tell other members from the group to view the entry as well. The contest entry can be viewed at:
http://www.createthefuturecontest.com/pages/view/entriesdetail.html?entryID=1329
Finally, if there is anyone with comments regrading the engine or if they wish to know more, then I would be glad to talk with them directly. I'm in the process of building the Stirling at the machine shop at Pueblo Community College, but the going is slow because the shop is mostly closed down for the summer. The contest has a lot of neat entries and your members will probably enjoy seeing them. Check it out.
Regards,
Jim Hacsi
Pueblo

I ran the following by John and some others and think that it might
be worth putting on the site!
--------- Forwarded message ----------

Subject: Sharpening Dull Files

To sharpen dull files first clean and degrease them
thoroughly. Boiling in water with detergent works well. Hook to a 12
VDC battery charger.

Use dilute sulphuric acid, ( Battery acid) about 2.5% as the electrolyte.
Use a coil of copper wire as the cathode. They come up better than new.

This is very similiar to the electrolytic derusting proceedure.
